Key Functions

  • Perform system security plan assessments in accordance with NIST RMF and FISMA requirements
  • Provide support and guidance to information system security plan stakeholders with the Assessment & Authorization (A&A) process per National Institute of Standards (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-37 - Risk Management Framework
  • Lead and conduct security testing and security control assessments on federal applications and general support systems to ensure compliance with the NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 4, NIST 800-37 Rev.1, and agency-specific requirements
  • Utilize Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) and vulnerability scanning data in security control assessments
  • Understand emerging technologies and their implementation within Government system and network environments
  • Possess knowledge of information technology concepts used in the evaluation of security performance and integrity of state-of-the-art applications, communications systems, hardware, software, satellite control systems, and information processing systems
  • Simultaneously manage and track multiple large scale systems or programs involved in the A&A process.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Cyber Security, or related technical field
  • Some specific IS Security experience could be substituted for education requirements
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • CompTIA Security+ CE certification (or 8570 Level II IAT/Level I IAM) equivalent
  • Knowledge of System Administration, Server Administration, Networking, and MS Office suite of tools
  • Previous experience with RMF, cybersecurity policy, security control validation, and industry-standard tools (SCAP, Nessus, Metasploit, Wireshark, eEye Retina, etc.)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent planning, organizing, scheduling, and progress reporting skills
  • Ability to collaborate with a diverse team of skilled systems engineers and cybersecurity professionals
